Quartrio’s Salon Classics will transport you to a
time when classical music was performed in the salon, an intimate setting where
art lovers gathered with family and friends for music making, fine food and
good company. We invite you to be our
guest at the Henry home as we recreate this atmosphere in a series of
engaging “open house” concerts.
We now offer a single afternoon or evening concert.
You will
have the opportunity to:
- Enjoy
light classics and seasonal favorites in an informal setting with background music from the quartet
Savor
complimentary hors d’oeuvres full of unique flavors and seasonal symmetry
that will thrill the palette and set the mood
- Meet
unique and interesting people who, like yourself, share a love of music
and have a passion to enjoy the best life has to offer
- Experience
a formal forty-five minute concert of the finest music written
for small string ensembles starting at the published time
Here's how an afternoon or evening works: Imagine a combination of a high class party mixed with a personalized musical performance. We start with the party. We invite you to relax and luxuriate in the
rich ambiance of the surroundings while the quartet performs your favorite repertoire in the background.
Peruse the remarkable artwork from around the world. Enjoy the snap of the fireplace or a walk on
the deck. The first half of the performance is very informal. Come close to listen and watch
the musicians or wander downstairs to enjoy more food and conversation with new
and old friends alike.
Now comes the personalized musical performance. A fifteen minute break allows us to prepare for the formal concert and feature presentation. Find a seat. Some patrons will be less than ten feet from the performers while the furthest seat in the house is less than twenty-five feet away.
During the formal concert, feel the excitement of a live, up-close
and personal performance. Revel in the
raw emotion and energy of the music, a feast of sight and sound. Experience the passion and subtlety of this
most personal and introspective style of music so close you can almost touch
it.
Finally, linger afterward to meet the musicians, say good-bye to new
friends and mark your calendar for the next performance!
